Meet with M.E.
This is the space where I introduce who I am, how I think, and why I built The Melanin Executive.
I built this work from the vantage point of someone who hasn’t just observed corporate systems—but operated within them at the level where decisions are made, careers are shaped, and leadership is defined.
For over a decade, I’ve worked inside global organizations in HR and talent spaces, close to the mechanisms that determine how people are seen, positioned, and advanced.
This is not theory.
This is operational reality.
The Melanin Executive
Where strategy meets soul.
HOW I OPERATE
My role inside organizations has always sat at the intersection of people, performance, and leadership decision-making.
That means I understand both sides of the system:
-
how individuals are evaluated
-
and how leaders actually interpret them
I’ve seen how capability is assessed.
I’ve seen how narratives are formed.
And I’ve seen how quickly the two can diverge.
This perspective is what drives everything I do here.
HOW I SEE
I don’t believe careers stall because people lack talent or effort.
I believe they stall because most people are never taught how to interpret the systems they are operating in.
How perception is formed.
How visibility compounds—or disappears.
How decisions are influenced long before feedback is ever given.
These dynamics are not always visible, but they are always present.
And I’ve spent my career working inside them.
I’ve also written extensively on these patterns, including corporate perception systems and what I call Perception Lag—a concept that explores how interpretation often trails behind performance.
HOW I WORK
My work sits at the intersection of leadership strategy, human psychology, and lived corporate experience.
I don’t teach you to perform harder within systems that don’t reward visibility alone.
I teach you how to:
-
read environments more strategically
-
communicate with authority that is actually received
-
and position yourself in alignment with how decisions are made, not just how work is done
This is not motivational work.
This is interpretive and strategic work.
WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT
I bring my full cognitive style into this work—including my ADHD, which shows up as:
-
rapid pattern recognition
-
deep systems thinking
-
and the ability to see connections others miss
I don’t operate at surface level.
I track structure, behavior, and pattern underneath what is being said.
That means the work is not generic coaching.
It is highly diagnostic, highly strategic, and focused on what actually shifts outcomes.
THE STANDARD
Everything I do is grounded in a single standard:
Your career should not only require effort—it should create movement.
Movement in:
-
visibility
-
influence
-
compensation
-
and long-term positioning
If that is not happening, something in the system is misaligned—and that is what we address.
WHO THIS IS FOR
This work is for women of color who are ready to stop interpreting their career experience as a personal limitation.
And instead begin to understand it as a positioning and perception dynamic.
It is for those who are ready to move with intention, not reaction.
This is not for people looking for generic advice or surface-level motivation.
This requires awareness, honesty, and willingness to shift how you operate.
WHY M.E. EXISTS
The Melanin Executive exists because talent alone has never been the issue.
Positioning has.
Visibility has.
Interpretation has.
Access has.
And most people are never taught how to navigate those layers strategically.
This is the gap I close.
